Google, as we know, is a genius when it comes to providing information and making life simple. Recently the browser, Google Chrome, became the world's number one browser overtaking Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) but sadly the victory lasted just for a day (March 18). It won't be long before we hear they are back on the top.

Google knows when you need an umbrella!

The other day I was stumbling from an online shop to another searching for some good deals on bicycles because, believe it or not, the Spring has finally arrived in the cold and grey UK. What better idea than a nice ride in the park with this lovely sunshine? Since I started this research, ads showing bikes and accessories have been literally spamming my screen, regardless of whether I was at work reading some news or at home watching a Youtube video. Even though I don't need a bike any more!

Cool Nokia

Nokia has always been known for 'Connecting People'. But now they seem to be interested in something more than just people. My question to you is how cool do you think it is to have your body part vibrate when someone calls you? Well, Nokia thinks it's pretty damn cool and the company was so overwhelmed with the concept that it recently filed a patent for the haptic technology where getting an actual tattoo/ fabric on the surface of the skin will make it go 'buzzzz'.

Ugandans offended by KONY 2012

The most viral video in the history, KONY 2012, was for the first time screened for the Ugandan people by a non-profit organization, African Youth Initiative Network (AYINET) in Northern Uganda. Although the incentive was to show them the support of Western nations, Ugandans however reacted violently by throwing rocks at the screen. A local Ugandan LRA survivor on watching the video stated: "If people in those countries care about us, they will not wear t-shirts of Joseph Kony for any reason, that would celebrate our suffering."

Most viral video of all time?

The Kony campaign video, released 7 days ago, has already 70+ million views.

The description of the video states "KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice".

About the video can be said that it's been, at least, controversial. It's been accused of promoting slacktivism, and also some data has been released about Invisible Children Inc, the non-profit organization author of the video. This organization doesn't seem to be doing things in an ideal way, as they are assigning only the 32% of their budget to direct help in Uganda. It is advisable that each individual always performs its own research about a non-profit organization before donating money.

Apart from this fact, one thing is clear: Joseph Kony must be stopped. Kony is the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, a militant group widely accused of human rights violations including murder, sex slavery, and forcing children to kill “enemies,” which often includes their own parents.

Less than 1% of Facebook Fans (actually) do something

The Ehrenberg-Bass Institute reveals, based on a 6-week study, that only 1% of Facebook fans engage with brands. The rule is 90/9/1. That means, 90% of users will never post, 9% will post once or occasionally and 1% will post often. They studied the 200 most "sexy" brands. Looking at 10 passion brands as Nike, Old Spice, Harle-Davidson, Porsche, Ford Mustang, Jack Daniels and Tiffany & Co, the researches found an average engagement of 0.66%

Only one of 200 brands achieve 2% of engagement. The brands with more engagement are alcohol brands, cars, cosmetics and electronic stuff. And those with less are distribution, software, apps and confectionery.

In the last 6 months the brands on Facebook has halved, based in E.Life study. And some of them has gave up the network, as Gap.

Love stumbling around vintage shops searching for a particular good that reminds you of your childhood? Are you a nostalgic of old phones? An Ukrainian geek has recently revealed its quite original piece of phone (or Tweephone) which, even though it works as a normal old appliance, represents the first model of analogue Twitter client. Not very user friendly I would say, but very original indeed.
