iPad Mini set for release

Rumours over the potential release of a mini version of Apple's groundbreaking tablet have been circulating the web for some time and now, according to a report from Bloomberg, a smaller version of the iPad will hit stores later this year.
The confirmation that Apple plan to introduce a more compact adaptation of the popular device comes at a time when a number of competitors have entered the market with similar offerings, such as the Google Nexus and Amazon's Kindle Fire.

It is expected that the device will be released in time for the holiday season and this has led to many predicting a September release, alongside the release of the latest instalment of the iPhone. Despite there being no official announcement from Apple on the product, Bloomberg have stated that the iPad Mini will comprise of a 7-8 inch screen and is unlikely to feature the retina display used for the third edition of the iPad. Until an official announcement is made the speculation will rage on, however with the buzz surrounding the Google Nexus and Microsoft's Surface tablet Apple will most certainly have something up their sleeve.
