A new favicon is here!

Immediately after the London 2012 Olympic Games, during which Google amused us with different funny Doodles, the Mountain View company has changed their favicon!

The new favicon is very similar to the second favicon used by Google, a lowercase purple "g" in a rounded corner rectangle launched in May 2008.

Nevertheless, many people did not appreciate this new favicon and it was replaced in January 2009, by the latest Google's favicon. A multi-coloured icon that comprises the Google's logo colours and a white lower-case "g" in the middle.

Moreover, the newest Google's favicon is extremely similar to the Google's mobile search apps for iOS and Android devices, the Google Plus' logo and the Chrome Web Store.

However, it seems that there are two versions of the new favicon.
One with a light blue background and a centred white "g" and a second one with a darker blue background and a left-centred "g".

Do you like it or do you prefer the old one?
