Trendiest #Olympics

2012 is offically the trendiest #Olympics

The ever increasing popularity of social media has lead the Olympic games to be the hot topic on everyones lips. Social media has gotten more people involved in the sporting event than ever before, in comparison to the 2008 Beijing games where there were 90 million facebook users to a cool 900 million in 2012. 211 million Americans will watch the Olympics, many of them through their tablet or smart phone which would  let individuals easily flow from one site to another enjoying their own 'social experience' while sharing it with their friends and family. Social hopping from youtube to facebook to twitter and back again while streaming the games  live will giving those who are unfortunate to have tickets a modern experience of the games.

Out of all the athletes competeing 75% are on twitter including Olympiam diver Tom Daley who tweeted.

''Thank you everyone for all your support before, during and after the synchro, the atmosphere was incredible!''

Popular trending on twitter has been about the offical opening ceremony where 9.6 million tweets were passed and the swimming war between both team USA swimmers Micahel Phelps and Ryan Lochte.  Debates on who is faster in the water keeps trending interesting and lets social networkers  share their views with others. Social networking makes the Olympics more fun and interactive and is sure to get more exciting as the finals in Athletics get closer ecspecially when Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake battle it out for Gold in the 100 metres Final!
