An app, that is currently under construction, could be about to eliminate the need for spare keys or to wait indoors for deliveries and visits from handymen. ShareKey, a house key application developed by German company Fraunhofer, uses Near Field Communication to enable users to simply wave their smartphone at a lock and open the door.
Perhaps more impressively it allows you to share digital keys and select different levels of access, each time you issue one and this can even be done remotely. Imagine not having to wait at home between 9 and 4 for a delivery or being able to carry on with your daily errands, whilst your plumber comes to fix a problem.
