D'oh! Kid buys virtual donuts for £1,000 playing a Simpsons game on family's iPad

Theo, an eight year old boy, accidentally bought iPad downloads for a huge amount of money. This is not an isolated incident of a kid shocking his parents with a huge bill from buying Apple iPad downloads, as a similar incident happened last week.

Theo's parents discovered the purchases when they checked their balance. Apple has refunded the money to the family. Theo's parents are concerned that this can happen to more children however. His dad, Nick, says children do not have a real concept of monetary value attached to Apple downloads. The company has many freemium games that are free to download but charge players for extras. Apple did not want to comment on the events and refers to the information available on the company’s website about parental control.
