The Facebook Likes Market

Dispatches from Channel 4 revealed the dark side of social networks in a documentary, discovering a real market behind likes on Facebook, followers on Twitter and views on YouTube. The business, based in Dakha (Bangladesh), involves around 20-25 thousand people and runs for 24 hours per day.

The documentary not only highlighted the shocking work conditions these people suffer, they work in sheds and rooms without any security using fake accounts to generate likes, followers and views for a mere $12 per month, but Dispatches also highlighted the issue of misleading individual consumers.

After all of this can we still believe social networking sites?
