Social Media Fails to Drive Black Friday Sales

On Friday we discussed the UK invasion of the Black Friday Sale and highlighted Amazon's use of Twitter to drive their sales. Constantly updating their Twitter feed with their latest offers and informing their vast following of deals was bound to work right?
It lead me to the site and I purchased an offer item, but statistics reveal that social media drove just 1% of purchases! More on IBM's research can be found here
